Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 Broome – Windjana Gorge
(0700) We depart Broome and travel via the Derby Prison Tree for a short visit. We now leave the bitumen behind us as we enter the Gibb River Road, almost instantly we can feel the remoteness. A walk up Windjana Gorge this afternoon is sure to impress. The area is rich in aboriginal culture and your guide will tell you about the “outlaw” Jandamurra, the Bunaba people and the battle of Devils Pass.

DAY 2 Windjana – Bells Gorge
(0700) This morning we’re off to Tunnel Creek, an amazing cave which has been carved as a Tunnel through the Napier Range. Here you will get your feet wet as we explore Jandamurras hideout, have your bathers & torches ready! In the afternoon, we stopover at the awe-inspiringly beautiful Bells Gorge.

DAY 3 Bells Gorge -Manning
Leaving Bells Gorge this morning, we travel through the beautiful scenery of the Kimberley’s highest mountain range, King Leopold Ranges, on our way to Galvans Gorge. This gorge will tempt you to don the bathers. For those feeling like a walk, a visit to Manning Gorge this afternoon is recommended. Camping overnight Mt Barnett Station. (B.L.D)
DAY 4 Manning Gorge – El Questro
Our journey today takes us through the majestic Cockburn Ranges, have your cameras ready for the spectacular scenery and panoramic views of the Cockburn Ranges, Cambridge Gulf and the twin rivers of the Durack and Pentecost. Camping overnight El Questro. (B.L.D)
DAY 5 El Questro - Kununurra
The morning sees us soaking in the thermal pools of Zebedee Springs, before a walk to stunning Emma Gorge on El Questro Station, with a rewarding swim in the crystal clear waters. We then head to the Kimberley town of Kununurra. Overnight camp Kimberleyland Caravan Park. (B.L)
DAY 6 Kununurra – Bungle Bungles
Depart Kununurra and drive via the scenic RAGGED RANGE to Turkey Creek, where we have a short stop. We then head to the turn off to the Bungle Bungles and another 53 km drive on a very scenic, but winding dirt road via the magnificent OSMAND RANGE. We arrive in time for lunch at the Northern Gorges. Afternoon walks in ECHIDNA CHASM, and Mini Palms (time permitting), before arriving at our overnight camp on sunset. (B.L.D)
DAY 7 Bungle Bungles - Kununurra
This morning we head to the Southern end for a walk through the Bee Hive area of Piccaninny Creek and Cathedral Gorge (optional helicopter flight available today, gives the advantage to view these magnificent formations close up from the air), before returning to Kununurra for our overnight camp. DAY 8/9 Kununurra - Darwin
We cross the border to the Northern Territory and travel along the Victoria river (watch out for salties) to our overnight at Katherine. The next morning we travel up the track (Stuart Hwy) into the outback capital Darwin. The last day of the tour may be run in conjunction with another operator.

Our Broome to Darwin dtours are camping accommodation. Australian Adventure Travel uses high quality camping equipment, two person tents and custom built kitchen trailers. Our tours are designed for camping in comfort.
Accommodated Tours
Australian Adventure Travel has a range of accommodated tours departing Perth and travelling north between Perth and Broome. Australian Adventure Travel offers twin share and bunkhouse style accommodation on typical Aussie farms, sheep stations, and lodges.
Camping In The Australian Bush
The campfire creates a wonderful atmosphere and is one of the great pleasures of camping in the bush Our passengers enjoy spinning a tale and sharing a laugh or song while meting new friends and enjoying the great outdoors.
All bush camping is fully self contained, with equipment of the highest standard and stringently maintained, including a kitchen trailer.
Bush camping is carried out with a strong commitment to conservation and environmental management.
What’s To Eat
Fresh food is used where possible, Australian Adventure Travel endeavours to provide a healthy and varied menu.
Breakfast continental style: toast, cereals, tea and coffee, fruit juice.
Lunch picnic style: cold meats, salad or sandwiches, fruit.
Dinner: hot main meals and dessert. Favourites to appear on the menu are camp oven roast, curries, pastas, satays and BBQs, with a variety of desserts. Try our damper!
