While it might not be the gourmet capital of the country, Mission beach has many restaurants which offer a wide range of local and international cuisine. Fresh fish and seafood are a particular speciality so whether you’re into gourmet fish dishes or good old fish and chips the restaurants dishing up either certainly won’t disappoint.
As well as the fish alternative, however, you will find a good selection of European and Asian eateries serving up food which tastes just as good as it does in its homeland. From fresh Italian pasta and pizzas to the ever-popular Chinese take away, your diet certainly won’t lack diversity while you’re there.
For the more adventurous diners among you, check out the other local specialties too. Kangaroo, alligator and emu have found their way onto several menus in Mission Beach so if you think you can handle it, you should give them a try.
Also extremely popular in Mission Beach are the bars and grills at the bigger hostels. Offering excellent barbecue options every evening, all you need to bring is yourself and your booze and make a night out of it.
